Eligibility for Admission - Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.) and B.Tech. (Food Process Engg.) programmes of the college/university must have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 examination level for general category and 40% marks in case of SC/ST and other special categories. Further, English should be one of the subjects of study at 10+2 level. The candidate must have attained the age of 17 years on 31st July of the year of admission. He/ she should be permanent resident or domicile of any one of the six states of NEH region namely Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura. This condition is not applicable to candidates who are nominated by ICAR.

Method of Admission - Depending upon the number of seats allocated to above described states of NEH region, the respective states nominate students out of the merit list prepared by concerned departments of each state based on the performance of students in common entrance test conducted by them. The ICAR nominees are governed by the eligibility as prescribed by ICAR and are selected by ICAR based on the performance of candidates in All India Entrance Test (AIET) conducted by ICAR.
